Typing reactions are ProseEdit's equivalent of auto-correction and text expansion rolled into one and can do more besides. Every time you type something, ProseEdit's typing recognition engine checks the text to the left of the cursor for a matching typing reaction. If one matches it fires and can replace the text as desired or execute a system command. So ‘dont’ can become ‘don't’ or ‘proseedit’ can become ‘ProseEdit’ or whatever you like. Only loaded reactions can respond, so if you don't like what the recogniser does, you can change it - no more ‘auto-correction knows best’!

Text— cph=128— clh=94—

A number of typing reactions documents can be loaded into the editor by default and each document can opt to use them or specify other typing reaction documents to be used instead or as well. This means you can have different reactions set up for different purposes.

Text— cph=128— clh=94—

It's easy to modify any typing reaction document to suit your purposes or create a new one from scratch using the Resources/Typing Reactions template - you can edit them just like any other ProseEdit document. You can also download any of the typing reaction documents listed below.

How To Download

Text— cph=111— clh=77—

Browse to this page from within ProseEdit. Open the typing reactions document of interest, then tap on〔/Save\〕on the Preview's toolbar. This will save the current document directly to the Typing Reactions resource folder.

Text— cph=94— clh=59—

You can then set any document to use those typing reactions via its document settings, or add the typing reactions to be loaded by default from the File Manager's App Settings.
